oh to be a trainee...

I don't want to vent...I am absolutely sick of hearing about all the petty drama that goes on between trainees and trainers...she doesn't treat me right....shes a bitch...they dont say hi to me in the morning...its annoying bottom line. So I shut my mouth...and do as Im told...and don't make a fuss...you have to choose your battles...this I know for sure.

However...IM BORED OUT OF MY MIND...im bored...I came to this job to have fun...I get to meet with top level officials and figure out some creative way to find an angle to be better at their job than they are...it should be fun...well according to my trainers...it has to be structured...it has to follow the same pattern every time...ITS STATEGIC...OK HELLO WE ARENT SELLING...your strategies not to be blunt...but they arent working...and i have to say "ok" "ill work on it"...work on something that doesnt work...its stupid.

I hate putting on a fake face of...oh im gonna be the most professional person on the planet...oh please....sorry to break it to you but its BORING...and it DOESNT sell...obviously...

ok you want to show me a technique and show me why I should be doing it...with sales to back it up...fine Ill tighten my jacket and pants...sit up straight...never smile or get excited...alright it works...Ill do it. BUT IT DOESNT WORK...thats the problem. I have to sit there...I cant get excited...i have to do my interview "strategically" to "hurt" them at the right time oh god...puke. I dont know how much longer I can handle it...I hope for some reason they have to move me to my own project...where i can have a little bit of freedom in the the order that i ask about different topics...oh no...it has to move from clients to competition...and never be opbeat...oh no that would be bad.

no lets just sit there and bore the CEO out of their mind...of course they arent gonna buy...why would they...I WOULDNT and im selling it...so sorry to vent...but i feel like a blog is the only place i can....which is sad I know...

For the record...I would like to say...i love what i do...just not the way they make me do it...I don't do well inside a box...with restrictions on my every move...especially when ur not even giving me criticism on something that would help let alone WORK AT ALL.

My Impression of Dubai...

I regret to inform that I don't like it here in Dubai...this i found to be a shocking phenomenon...but its true. Its not that it is such a terrible place...its just not my cup of tea.

I love warm weather...this place takes it to another level...why am I suprised...dont ask...it is the middle of the desert.

I love the beach...its good for one thing...surfing...there are no waves here...why risk getting eaten by a shark right?? however some water here is clear blue...but the water here is not tropical...and theres not tropical colorful beautiful things to see...dissappointing.

Now Im not going to lie...there are cool things...they have the biggest mall in the world...we went yesterday...there is a full size aquarium and an olympic size ice hockey rink inside...and thats cool. The only thing is...i can go to all the shops at home...or to the long beach aquarium...or to sea world...we might not have it all at one mall but we have it all...so yeah coming to Dubai for that really isnt worth it (from a vacation standpoint)

There are pretty things to see here...but its all man made...its not like going to Hawaii where everything is just gorgeous and lush and green and tropical...its like...wow this is ONE cool street that has nice things but dont turn left there or you will be in construction central.

There is construction EVERYWHERE here...the construction crane is the national bird.

Im not complaining...im happy to say that ive seen it and that way my opinion is valid...i had high hopes...but i wouldnt come back...or reccommed for a vacation.i would much rather spend a vacation on the beaches of Tahiti...figi...or bali...or see the rainforrest in Central America...or expirience the Congo (besides all the fighting that goes on) but really im not a desert lover...

we are however gonna take a desert camping adventure one weekend...you gotta do it while your here...ill let you know how it goes. for now...i should get back to work.

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Well Im officially leaving Europe...for awhile...to my new EXCITING destination of Dubai!! We leave the house in Overpelt at 10am...which is nice that we don't have to wake up at an ungodly hour...or go into the office on thursday...these are two things I am very excited about amoung others...

no more frituur...yes some may say this is a horrible thing...but the smell is starting to make me quizy...

leaving overpelt...all i really have to say is thank god. I mean i know its hard to believe that I would want to leave such a THRIVING metropolitain area...such that it is...but some people like to diversify their expiriences and let me tell you...nothing about Dubai seems to be even close to what overpelt has to offer...in a fabulous and over the top way...

But before I can even get to dubai...we will be stopping for a layover in Instanbul Turkey...so officially Ill have been to eastern as well as western Europe...which is cool...

But Dubai...Im tickled with excitement really...such a NEW place...nothing like anywhere in the world that I have seen...most likely...and people...ITS WARM...ive heard it reaches OUTRAGEOUS temperatures...and IM SO EXCITED ABOUT IT...i think this year is supposed to be all about expiriencing EXTREMES...cold...hot...horrible...fabulous...no beach...wait a minute...BEACH...yes there is a beach in dubai and yes there are waves to surf!! oh my GOD!!! can I say how beyond excited I am for this adventure to begin...i get to go surfing...and in a place I never thought I would actually go..beyond dreaming...and icing on this most delicious cake...i have a job that I think i might actually be pretty good at...yes life right now is pretty crazy about oppurtunities within my grasp...now its just up to me to take them.

DUBAI...here I come!

DUBAI!!!

Well I found out yesterday that life's next big adventure will be starting in the UAE...in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi which is so cool and Im stoked to go...the only thing is...this week is really dragging...the project isnt completely laid out yet so we don't know the details on everything and won't know until tomorrow so Im getting ancy waiting to hear my exact date of departure and my exact location!! I am soooo very excited to be going to the UAE.

I actually have 2 friends from college who are from the UAE...I let them know I would be on my way and they are excited to be able to spend some time showing me around!!

I would like to reiterate the fact that even though today was dragging it still beats out being an au pair...but Im grateful for how everything happened because I am so excited to start my new job as an international sales consultant!!

Sorry if this isnt too funny...or if you didnt laugh too much...I have been absolutely exhausted...and I realize this blog doesn't say too much but I have been at the office since 9 am with basically nothing to do...Im going stir crazy!

Im very excited for the structure of the job...spending 3 to 5 months at a time in a country and then coming back to Belgium to get the next project...I like this because it matches my "Miss Change-O-Matic personality. Plus it allows me to have a base in Europe and still have time to travel and see it!! I think Im going to enjoy the next chapter of my life...travel, see the world, and get paid to do it.
