Its been awhile...in Bali.

Well as you might know, I joked about coming to Bali and not going back to Kuala Lumpur or the job I used to have and as you might have guessed...I have come to bali and decided to cancel my return ticket. So here I am living in Bali for the time being.

I have realized that I don't have a concrete plan as to what I want to do here, let alone an idea of what I want to do with my life...oh goodness I don't even want to think about that. Im just trying to relax for awhile, and take a break from "figuring it out". Let me tell you there have been PLENTY of times over the last year that I thought I had the long term answer and I guess I was wrong.

A few things I have come to know about myself. I love the world, its such an exciting place and there is so much to see. I only want to see the places that have beaches, with waves. I know it sounds terrible, but trust me...there is not enough time to see it all. I have found out that the more well traveled you become, the less traveled you actually feel.

Also, the impact of money on the world makes me a little bit sick...and the quezzy feeling only gets worse when every person I talk to is consumed by the thought of it, or not having it. I don't have much, but I live within my means, and I will figure it out as I go. I am thankful for being young, and in a position to not have to worry about a plethera of bills. In fact, I think my student loan provider went bancrupt, so at this point I don't have any bills at all. Everything is pay as I go for me, and for the time being it is working out quite well.

The biggest thing I have noticed is ATM fees. The maximum amount you can extract from the ATM at once in Bali is 1.5 million rupiah. I know it sounds like a lot, but that is the equivalent to 150 US dollars, and tagged to it is a 5 dollar fee + a 3% fee. The moral of the story, Bank of America sucks, don't bank with them if you plan on traveling outside the states.

On the upside, I have accomplished a goal of being a millionare before 25. Yep I said it, being a millionare, and having money, is all relative. And there are plenty of things you can do without it. You just have to be creative.

I have met the most wonderful people here in Bali. I'm not going to lie that I completely enjoy the eye candy here...mostly australian, in shape, and tan...its a great thing. But I have met 2 girls in particular who happen to be amazing. They are both from the UK, and both were traveling on their own. We have created a sort of trio, meeting for breakfast and enjoying dinner together. We're all around the same age, all with a different story to tell. But I am really glad I met them, and will continue to stay friends Im sure for years to come.

I think its really cool to know I have places to stay now in the Netherlands, Belgium, UAE, Malaysia, Bali, Australia, England, and of course the States. Traveling will be a part of my life forever.

Other than that, I am thoroughly enjoying Bali. I don't know for sure how long I will stay. It really just depends on the opportunities that come my way in the future. And I'll tell you what. I love more than anything being in a postition to take an opportunity when it comes my way. I love not having plans or obligations. And I know it sounds irresponsible, but I guess when you are 23 (24 in 3 days) its good to expirience life, so you have the potential to figure it out...instead of trying to convince yourself that your mediocore job, and medicore boyfriend is everything you ever wanted your life to amount to.

No age is too old to start living. No life is too concrete to change. Enjoy every moment of the time you get, cuz in the end its never enough.

Be careful with CC fees too! Often for using your credit card abroad you get up to 3% "conversion fee"

If you look though there are some good credit cards for travelers :)
